For Veterans Day, our schools went beyond the ordinary, turning what would have been a day off into a day of meaningful connection and learning. While students across the nation typically enjoy a day of leisure, our halls were buzzing with activity as current and retired service men and women shared their experiences with our students.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the inspiring Veterans Day assembly at our high school, where a diverse panel of speakers captivated the audience with poignant stories of service. The gospel choir and band added a melodic touch, delivering moving musical tributes that echoed the profound gratitude we all feel for our veterans.

But the celebration didn't stop there. Our middle school and elementary schools joined in the festivities, hosting events that brought generations together. In the elementary schools, veterans took center stage as they visited classrooms to read and engage with our youngest learners. Meanwhile, the middle school orchestrated unique activities that allowed students to connect and learn from those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.

Education played a vital role in the day's events, with students gaining valuable insights into the sacrifices made by veterans. By forgoing a day off, our students had the opportunity to engage directly with the real stories and experiences that have shaped our nation.

On this Veterans Day, we celebrate, educate, and express our deepest gratitude to the men and women who have selflessly served our nation.
