It’s #ThankfulThursday, and this week, we’re shining a light on two incredible paraeducators who may be new to their roles, but are already making a lasting difference where it matters most.
Meet Rasha Abdalla from Oliver Ellsworth and Cori A. Richardson from Clover Street School—both of whom have been named Building Paraeducators of the Year for their schools.
💙 Rasha Abdalla (2 years at OE) brings patience, understanding, and a deep commitment to ensuring her students feel safe, supported, and confident in their learning. She takes the time to see each child’s unique needs, never rushing the process, but instead fostering a space where they can grow.
💚 Cori A. Richardson (just under a year at Clover) draws from her own experience with a learning disability to connect deeply with her students. She knows firsthand that learning can be challenging, but having someone who believes in you can make all the difference. This year, she’s helped a student find her voice through a speech device, worked on sight words, and built strong trust with families to turn challenges into triumphs.
Though new(er) to their positions, both of these phenomenal paraeducators are proving that experience isn’t the only thing that makes a great educator—passion, dedication, and heart do too.
As we continue celebrating our Building Paraeducators of the Year in the coming weeks, stay tuned for the big district-wide announcement for Paraeducator of the Year!
👏🏽 Join us in congratulating Rasha and Cori on this well-deserved honor!
