Windsor, CT—Windsor Public Schools welcomed students back to classrooms today with excitement, energy, and a powerful demonstration of community support. The first day of the 2024-2025 school year was marked by the district’s signature #CallingAllWindsorMen event, where fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other male caregivers gathered to give students a warm and encouraging welcome.Calling All Windsor Men line up at Poquonock School. Dads and father figures greet incoming students for their first day of school. The atmosphere at each school was electric, as students, staff, and families reunited after the summer break. At the high school, middle school, and elementary schools across the district, the sight of so many men lining up at the front doors to greet students set a tone of support and community engagement that will carry throughout the year. The welcome brigade at Sage Park Middle School was nothing short of spectacular. Windsor Public Schools couldn’t have asked for a better start to the school year. The presence of dads and father figures was a powerful reminder of the importance of family and community in our students’ education.
