On April 1, 2025, Windsor Public Schools hosted its 1st Annual Transition Fair, a groundbreaking event designed to connect families and students with disabilities (PreK-12+) to the resources, agencies, and support systems available to them. And what a success it was!

From the moment families walked into LP Wilson, they were met with a wealth of information and a warm, welcoming environment. The event featured a variety of vendors, giveaways, tours, and delicious food, all aimed at ensuring our students and their families feel supported as they navigate their educational journeys.

This event would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of Mary Cristafaro, Director of Pupil and Special Education Services. Mary has been truly transformative in the way Windsor Public Schools approaches pupil services, ensuring that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed. Her dedication, alongside her incredible team, made this event not only possible but impactful.

From ensuring access to vital community agencies to fostering meaningful conversations with families, Mary and her team are redefining what it means to support students with disabilities in Windsor. The Transition Fair is just one example of the innovative ways they are bringing resources directly to the families who need them most.

The Transition Fair was more than a one-day event; it was a statement of commitment to our students and families. In today’s ever-changing landscape, navigating education and available services can be overwhelming. This event was designed to answer questions, provide clarity, and empower families with the knowledge and connections they need.

Seeing families engage with community partners, students explore new opportunities, and parents walk away feeling supported and informed was the ultimate measure of success.
