#ThankfulThursday: Sparking Curiosity & Elevating Engagement at SPMS
At Windsor Public Schools, we are committed to developing the genius in every child and building lifelong learners. This week, we’re proud to highlight two Sage Park Middle School educators—Corey Pace and Brooke Hadgraft—who are igniting student excitement and creating classrooms where curiosity, creativity, and confidence flourish.
Corey Pace: Science That’s Made to Stick 🔬✨
Corey Pace doesn’t just teach science—he makes it an adventure. Through hands-on labs, engaging experiments, and real-world applications, Corey transforms his classroom into a dynamic space where students are free to wonder, explore, and experiment. His lessons are meticulously designed to ensure that learning is both rigorous and joyful.
This approach aligns with our Instructional Core Wheel, particularly its focus on high-quality, student-centered instruction and deeper learning. By creating a classroom that sparks curiosity and supports critical thinking, Corey is laying the foundation for lifelong scientific inquiry.
Brooke Hadgraft: Writing as Exploration and Discovery ✍🏽🧠
Brooke Hadgraft is a powerful new voice at SPMS whose passion for writing is infectious. In her 7th grade ELA classroom, writing isn’t just a skill—it’s a journey. Students are challenged to explore big ideas, stretch their thinking, and experiment with language as a tool for self-expression and understanding the world.
Brooke creates a culture where students take risks in their writing, revise with purpose, and see themselves as real authors. Her open-door classroom is a hub for creativity and growth, embodying our district mission to build learners who think critically and communicate boldly. Her work reflects the Instructional Core Wheel's emphasis on meaningful tasks, student ownership, and academic engagement.
Fueling Future Innovators and Storytellers
Together, Corey and Brooke represent what’s possible when teachers design purposeful, passionate instruction with students at the center. They are helping our learners not only master content—but also discover who they are and what they’re capable of.
👏🏽 Join us in celebrating these two outstanding educators for their dedication to shaping confident, curious, and capable learners.
