National Arts in Education Week is September 9–13, and we’re celebrating the incredible work our Windsor Public Schools art educators do every day! Meet Ellie Lloyd, an inspiring art teacher at John F. Kennedy School who is making art come alive in unexpected ways.
Ms. Lloyd is showing students that art is not just about paintbrushes and canvases—it’s about creativity, community, and resourcefulness. Through using art accompanied by the core SEL skills our students learn everyday work is now transformed into beautiful art pieces that reflect students’ identities and personal stories.
Throughout the semester, students across all grades will engage in different projects that focus on sustainability, creativity, and self-expression.
Windsor Public Schools is proud of the innovation and dedication our art teachers bring to their classrooms, creating engaging environments that push students to think critically, solve problems, and develop resilience. As we celebrate National Arts in Education Week, we thank all our students, educators, families, and community members who champion the visual arts as a vital part of a complete education.
