Windsor, CT ā€“ October 4, 2024 ā€“ Sage Park Middle Schoolā€™s inaugural Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) chapter launch, affectionately named Charger Dads, saw a remarkable turnout of fathers and father figures on Wednesday evening. The event marked the official start of a program that aims to strengthen relationships between students, families, and the school community through positive male role models.

Set to the backdrop of lively Latin jazz and the rich, inviting aromas of Spanish cuisine, the Charger Dads event not only celebrated the program launch but also honored Hispanic Heritage Month. The night was a vibrant fusion of culture, connection, and commitment to student success.
Charger Dad gives a moving testimony about how the presence of male role models in his life help shape and mold the man he is today.
ā€œWe are thrilled with the turnout and the overwhelming support from our dads and father figures,ā€ said Director of OFCP and Social Emotional Learning, Dr. Michael Mallery. ā€œOur Watch D.O.G.S program is all about bringing families into the educational experience, and the enthusiasm tonight shows just how committed our community is to ensuring every student feels supported, safe, and inspired.ā€
