OE students grove to the tunes of Blues and Beyond during OE’s Black History Month celebration.
Oliver Ellsworth School recently honored Black History Month with an unforgettable musical journey led by Blues and Beyond. This talented trio’s educational program explores how the Blues gave birth to R&B, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop, and Pop celebrating the Black roots that shaped modern music.
Students were captivated as they learned about the historical and cultural impact of these genres, experiencing firsthand the power of music as a storyteller of history. This event beautifully demonstrated Windsor Public School’s commitment to cross-curricular education, blending history with music to create meaningful learning experiences. It also reflected the vision of our North Star Instructional Core Wheel by connecting high-quality instruction with cultural understanding.
Principal Gruber and Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services enjoy the performance alongside the students .
Principal Taran Gruber shared his enthusiasm, stating, “At Oliver Ellsworth, we celebrate Black History as American History and we celebrate it well beyond the month of February. Blues and Beyond brought this legacy to life, connecting the past with the present through the universal language of music.”
