over and byndloss

thankful thursday

As Black History Month comes to a close, our commitment to recruiting, retaining, and celebrating Black educators remains stronger than ever—because representation matters.

This #ThankfulThursday, we’re recognizing two phenomenal educators from Sage Park Middle School who set the bar high for excellence every day:

celeste over

🏆 Celeste Over – A dynamic and dedicated educator who builds authentic relationships with students, striking the perfect balance of firm and fair. Her impact extends beyond the classroom as a coach for our 9-time Girls Indoor Track State Champions—a true testament to her leadership, discipline, and ability to bring out the best in those she works with.

Byndloss

📚 Florence Tucker Byndloss – A powerhouse in education, known for her depth of knowledge and relentless pursuit of excellence. In her classroom, “I don’t know” is never an acceptable answer—instead, she pushes students to dig deeper, think critically, and realize their full potential.

These women embody the excellence we strive for in WPS, and their presence is a reminder of why diverse representation in education is non-negotiable. We will continue to uplift, support, and fight for more Black educators in our schools—because every student deserves to see themselves in their teachers, coaches, and mentors.
