Every day, in classrooms and hallways, in quiet moments of encouragement and creative breakthroughs, our paraeducators shape the lives of students in ways that are both profound and lasting. This week, as we continue to honor our Building Paraeducators of the Year, we celebrate two individuals whose unwavering dedication, patience, and heart have left an indelible mark on Windsor Public Schools.
At Sage Park Middle School, Monica Lane is a force of positivity and innovation. With 7.5 years of service, her passion for helping students find joy in learning is unmatched. Whether she’s adapting lessons with her artistic touch, leading the PRISM after-school program to create a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ students, or fostering friendships through the PALS Club, Monica embodies the spirit of connection and care. Her ability to support students through challenges, guiding them toward independence and confidence, has not gone unnoticed—teachers, administrators, and students alike sing her praises.
Meanwhile, over at Windsor High School (LPW), Cedric Green has been a pillar of strength and kindness for 21 years. A former Art Director turned mentor, he brings a sense of dignity and grace to his work with students, teaching them not only academic lessons but also valuable life skills. From something as simple as nurturing plants to the deeper lessons of self-respect and responsibility, he helps his students grow—literally and figuratively. His warm and gentle presence ensures that every student he works with feels valued, respected, and empowered.
Their work is not always seen in the spotlight, but the impact they have is immeasurable. They teach, they uplift, and they transform lives in ways that extend far beyond the classroom. We are so proud to recognize Monica Lane and Cedric Green for their incredible contributions to our students, our schools, and our community.
